About Us

God’s precious family in the heart of Houston.

Who We Are

We Connect People to Jesus and to Each Other

Gofamint Sanctuary of Praise is God’s precious family in the heart of Houston: a church where worship is heartfelt, the Word is central, and everyone has a place at the table.

We are a people whose lives proclaim the praises of the One who called us out of darkness into His marvelous light (1 Peter 2:9). As a local assembly of The Gospel Faith Mission International (GOFAMINT), we gather to worship God, grow in His Word, and share the love of Christ with our city and the nations.

Whether you’ve walked with God for decades or you’re just beginning to ask questions, you’ll find a family here that’s glad you came.

Our Story

A Story of Faith, Generations in the Making

Our story began long before Houston: in 1956, in Lagos, Nigeria.

That year, Pastor (Dr.) Reuben Akinwalere George gathered a small fellowship and Bible study group with one simple purpose: to teach the Word of God. It was a humble beginning, but God was in it. That small gathering grew into The Gospel Faith Mission International (GOFAMINT), a global ministry committed to spreading the Gospel of Jesus Christ, with more than 2,000 branches around the world today.

Gofamint Sanctuary of Praise Houston is part of that story. We carry the same heart that sparked that first fellowship, a deep love for God’s Word and a passion to share it, and we live it out here in Houston through worship, biblical teaching, prayer, evangelism, discipleship and community outreach.

Our history is part of a continuing story of faith, service, and the work of God through generations of believers.

Sanctuary of Praise is a place where individuals and families gather in faith, grow spiritually, and serve God together. Through our ministries and church life, we remain committed to advancing the Kingdom of God, strengthening the body of Christ, and sharing His love with our wider community.

And the story is still being written. Today we are stepping out in faith to secure a permanent sanctuary, a house of worship for generations to come. We would love for you to be part of what God is doing next. Join the building project →
